Sapphire Roses

Who: Brienne / Margery
Where: King's Landing

What: The mood was celebratory for The Royal Weddings, and Brienne was taking in everything with a great bit of stride. Her duty for Catelyn Stark was over, and while the death of the woman, she swore her sword to is bittersweet to Brienne. It still puts her in close proximity to Sansa, and she will try to uphold her oath to Lady Stark. But she must keep her head low, or both her and Lady Stark might find themselves dead.

And hide her feelings she does, as she strolls through one of the lush gardens of the Red Keep with her hands held firmly behind her back. Her eyes take in the sights of the various Lords and Ladies of the various Houses who have sworn their loyalty to King Joffery and to soon to be Queen Margery. And it has been sometime since she has seen King Renly's young queen, and she has been hesitant to pay her a visit ever since her arrival, for she still feels guilt for Renly's assassination and in ability to protect him from The Shadow with Stannis' face.

But she needs to overcome her feelings of guilt, and to pay tribute to the Young Queen of the Realm. And she plans to do her best to keep her feelings towards her new husband. Brienne makes her way over towards Queen Margery, with her hands still behind her back until she comes up to Margery. She moves her hands from behind her back, and she takes hold of her turquoise gown. “Your Grace, it is an honor to meet you once again.” She smiles, and despite her nerves, she is still happy to see Margery is well.

She laughs, as melodious and light as ever. That's only the appropriate response to such an inquiry, to treat it as a joke (of course, it's a legitimate concern, Brienne is right to worry, but if Margaery let that show it wouldn't end well at all).

"It's a lovely city," she says, which isn't entirely an answer. "We've been warmly received, and I hope I can pay that back many times over."

She's skilled at the art of tact.

In truth, nobody has been foolish enough to mistreat her, simply because of the extension of grace offered by Tywin Lannister bringing them into the fold. She is more grateful for this than she feels comfortable saying aloud.

"Perhaps they are inclined to show mercy," Margaery suggests. Perhaps they're simply too preoccupied to think about the actions of one woman, and that is more likely, but Margaery would never risk offending Brienne to say it. "A great deal many more surprising things have occurred of late." Also a guarded truth, and one she need not elaborate on.

She turns her smile a bit coy. She is excited to be the queen once more, but she is not entirely thrilled. At least Renly's only crimes were overassuredness and a lack of interest in their marital bed. But -- such is life. "It's going to be grand," she says, not quite agreeing.
